This position is located within the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP), Office of Native American Affairs in Washington, DC.
At the full performance level (GG-14) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Develops findings and recommendations regarding Native American historic preservation issues that are presented to the ACHP membership for adoption as agency policy.
2. In coordination with the director of ONAA (Director), develops and advances government-wide initiatives that support the ACHP's strategic goals for improving federal agency consultation with Indian tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations (NHOs) and the protection of Native sacred places.
3. Monitors, analyzes, and evaluates proposed legislation, regulations, and guidelines for programs and activities of federal agencies which may impact tribal and Native Hawaiian historic preservation issues and/or ACHP's policies.
4. Assists the director in the development and implementation of the ACHP's tribal and Native Hawaiian strategic plan responsibilities and ONNA's annual office work plan and designs modifications to resolve short-term workload imbalances.
The ACHP has determined that the duties of this position are immediately available for telework due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Salary Information
GG-14 Step 1 ($122,530) - Step 10 ($159,286). per annum. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the (1) Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying.
(1) Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GG-14, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG-13 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) administering and/or participating in complex, controversial, high profile Section 106 reviews with historic preservation issues of concern to Indian tribes and/or Native Hawaiian organizations; 2) working directly with indigenous communities and demonstrated work experience in addressing cultural resource or historic preservation issues of concern to Indian tribes and/or Native Hawaiians; and 3) addressing policy-level issues regarding tribal and/or Native Hawaiian consultation and/or the protection of sacred places or historic properties of religious and cultural significance to Indian tribes and/or Native Hawaiian organizations.
