Summary

About the Position: This is an Interdisciplinary GS-12 position for the Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District, Engineering and Construction Division, Technical Services Support Branch.

You will utilize knowledge of Geographic Information Systems and associated software to support projects in the areas of database development and management, modeling, mapping, and engineering.

Duties

Help
  • Serve as senior technical resource and resident expert for geospatial data and systems.
  • Plan geographic information system projects to accomplish assignments in the most expeditiously and economical manner.
  • Analyze and incorporate advances in technology relating to geospatial data and systems.
  • Ensure integrity of mapping and geographic information system products.
  • Communicate with subordinates and professional colleagues to complete projects successfully.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience, which includes leading technical teams performing Geographic Information System (GIS) duties; AND utilizing GIS platforms for analysis and development of applications for execution of programs; AND developing collaborative agency partnerships with emphasis on growing workload; AND providing innovative geospatial data management advice and technical direction in the maintenance and modification of geospatial data for GIS analysis, mapping, and GIS development activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)
