Duties

Help
  • Maintains and operates the ski lifts including main chair lift, bunny slope tow bar lift and snow tubing tow lift.
  • Operates snowmaking system and positions snow guns to obtain maximum coverage of snow on the ski hill and insures maximum safe environment and snow surface for skiing.
  • Ensures safety of patrons (i.e., proper clothing, equipment, etc.) and is alert at all time for unsafe conditions, mechanical malfunctions and possible injury to skiers through their own negligence.
  • Completes operational logs provided by supervisor.
  • Clears snow from customer traffic areas.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Stands, bends, stoops, and climbs for long periods of time on surfaces that may be wet or slippery.
  • Lifts or drags heavy equipment, supplies and materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Work is performed outside under varied conditions and temperatures often below zero.
  • Exposed to long periods of cold, dark, snow, bright sunlight, and extreme weather.
  • Serious injury may result from getting caught in operating equipment or from collisions when operating on or near public roads or parking lots.
  • Subject to cuts and bruises.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ski lifts, ski area operations and chemicals used for snowmaking.
  • General knowledge of the ski industry.
  • Ability to read gages, interpret same and make appropriate entries in logs.
  • Ability to work with other lift attendants, provide quality customer service, and understand and support chair evacuations as required.
  • Skill and knowledge to operate and drive a variety of vehicles and equipment (i.e., snow blower, snow machine, snow gun).
