    Summary

    The incumbent serves as a recognized expert in industrial hygiene for the agency with responsibility for developing policy and objectives, appraising programs and initiating requirements for the elimination or control of industrial environmental health hazards at their source. The industrial hygiene assignments are of such breadth as to cover complex problems in industrial and maintenance operations, and/or research, development, test and evaluations.

    Responsibilities

    As a Lead Industrial Hygienist you will:

    • Serve as a recognized expert in industrial hygiene for the agency with responsibility for developing policy and objectives, appraising programs and initiating requirements for the elimination or control of industrial environmental health hazards at their source.
    • Provide consultation on industrial hygiene evaluation and exposure assessment research including the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of workplace hazards.
    • Participate in interdivisional and interagency committees requiring expertise in all aspects of industrial hygiene and related disciplines.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Up to 5% domestic travel may be required for this position.
