Responsible for planning and conducting general, joint, follow-up, and special inspections and assessments at NETCOM activities worldwide to assure understanding of, and compliance with, Federal laws, regulations, and other mandatory guidelines.
Perform on-site, off-site, and virtual IG inspections.
Inspect, examine, and evaluate applicable Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Army (DA), and NETCOM programs and functions to assess compliance with laws and regulations.
Serve as team chief during Special and General Inspections addressing the various inspection topics and priorities.
Prepare clear, concise, accurate, unbiased reports of investigation.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
The IT classification for this position is IT III or comparable. Position is designated as Special Sensitive.
Frequent TDY travel by commercial conveyances will be required in carrying out missions and responsibilities up to 40%.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Inspector General Credentials through successful completion of The Inspector General School (TIGS) located in Fort Belvoir, VA.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with conducting interviews and/or fact finding techniques; preparing inspection finding reports to ensure investigation met standards and directives; developing new techniques in order to resolve and/or identify issues with the commands operational areas. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Additional information
Must successfully graduate from TIGS's basic course and any other required IG qualification training venues; and practice IG attributes as mandatory requirements for continued employment as an Army IG. Any serious criminal activity, to include drug use, will result in the immediate removal of an employee from IG duty and loss of access to IGARS and IGNET.
The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs may be warranted. This position may be subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
