Duties

Help

As a Supervisory Government Information Specialist, you will:

- Serve as a FOIA Section Chief (FOIA/PA) for IDRMD and supervises the day-to-day operational activities of the FOIA analysts assigned to her/his section.
- Initiate, plan, monitor, track, coordinate, and supervise the FOIA activities of the analysts assigned to his/her section.
- Process initial FOIA reviews from inception to completion typically without guidance from the ADIDRM.
- Act on behalf of the ADIDRM in his/her absence and assists the ADIDRM in updating OFAC staff on legislative and judicial changes, and in working with Chief Counsel on legal questions regarding the impact of the applicable statute(s) and applicable Treasury regulations on the releasability of requested information.
- Provide advice and guidance on FOIA/PA matters to the ADIDRM, Senior OFAC and Treasury Officials.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience for the GS-14 is one year of experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent in other public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience in ALL of the following:
- Providing technical and administrative advice regarding a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program. AND
- Providing advice in the development and oversight of policies, practices and procedures relating to the Freedom of Information Act program. AND
- Interacting and communicating with Federal Agencies and the public as the point of contact on matters relating to disclosure of information within the purview of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts. AND
- Independently processing initial FOIA requests.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year probationary period may be required.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Rating: Your application will be evaluated in the following areas: Administrative Management, Technical, Communication, and Leadership. Your rating may be lowered if your responses to the online questions are not supported by the education and/or experience described in your application.
