Duties

Help
  • You will be responsible for operational control including the development and implementation of all procedures and processes necessary to ensure physical security and antiterrorism/force protection (AT/FP) program requirements are met.
  • You will be responsible for physical protection of information, personnel, facilities, infrastructure, and other resources against criminal, terrorist, or hostile intelligence activities
  • You will be responsible for various aspects of personnel security as it relates to physical access control, including identity proofing, vetting and issuance of a local access credential
  • You will manage a multi-layered physical security measures designed to prevent or delay and identify unauthorized access to facilities, equipment, material and information.
  • You will manage physical security actions, including policy and standards development and implementation as well as inspection and analysis.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is restricted to applicants with veterans preference. However, applications will be accepted from non-preference eligibles that may be referred for employment consideration only in the absence of applicants with veterans preference.
  • Physical Security Certification (PSC) is required within 24 months of assuming the position and must be maintained through the entire length of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Developing, implementing, and managing security programs such as Physical Security, antiterrorism & Force Protection and Emergency Management to protect critical infrastructure, information, personnel, and other program assets in accordance with DoD policy and directives.
