Duties

Help
  • Responsible for providing courteous and timely customer service to the various customers serviced by the Directorate of Public Works (DPW).
  • Provides information about the services available through the DPW and answers inquiries on how the system works, workflow, and who is responsible for each step relative to mechanics of the system.
  • Manages the work order system and performs office automation work, which includes forms, reports, correspondence, electronic mail and personal computer or client-server applications.

This position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 3 Years by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further consideration.

This position may be filled as a TERM appointment NTE 3 Years, if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. TERM appointments may be extended up to a maximum of eight years and may be made permanent without further consideration.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes working in an office setting preparing a variety of narrative and/or tabular material; reviewing documents for content, grammar and spelling accuracy; and utilize automated systems such as Word processing and/or spreadsheets systems in support of organizational assignments.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
