Duties

Help
  • Serves as an Operations Officer, supervising a staff overseeing the planning of current and future operations.
  • Participates in the planning, coordination, and development of current and future operations and functions.
  • Develops innovative solutions and long range plans for current and emerging operations and requirements.
  • Provides full administrative and technical supervision of a staff, ensuring training, development, performance management, awards, and disciplinary concerns are addressed.
  • Prepares, formulates, coordinates, and staffs a wide variety of administrative and operational correspondence, reports, messages, studies, and staff papers as required.
  • Establishes and maintains direct liaison activities and coordination with key military leaders, staff, and Intelligence Community partners to ensure requirements are successfully processed and satisfied.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with access to sensitive compartmented information and special access programs.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Incumbent must be willing to work overtime and irregular hours.
  • Must be willing to deploy to hazardous duty areas in support of operations and training for periods of up to 120 days. This postion may require temporary duty up to 50% of time.
  • Must pass the organizations Personnel Reliability Program which includes credit check, drug screening, polygraph, and psychological evaluation.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Must sign a statement attesting to the understanding of DCIPS provisions.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: developing training and operations plans supporting current and/or future operations; developing operational proposals, plans, studies, and/or orders for intelligence operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG-13).

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled.This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the rquired experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted at this grade level.
