This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Information Technology Management Cyber Security position to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Help
  • Monitors and provides cybersecurity guidance and supervision for a Medical Information Security Department.
  • Provides advice to hospital leadership in regards to reduce, improve or refine the overall cybersecurity policies and safeguards.
  • Writes policies, plans, and processes related to cybersecurity.
  • Provides expert knowledge on medical devices and their cybersecurity requirements.
  • Accesses impact of policy changes to cybersecurity programs through interpretation of new policies and directives.
  • Provides expert knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation and certifications standards and the Authority to Operate (ATO) process.
  • Assigns supporting roles of cybersecurity to team members and serves as quality control for the accomplishment of team duties.
  • Plans and organizes work to be accomplished, establishing priorities and monitoring progress in terms of timeliness and accuracy of work performed.
  • Establishes performance standards and prepare performance appraisals for team.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance as it is required for this position.
  • Mandatory Seasonal Influenza vaccinations may be required due to working in a medical facility.
  • This is an Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program position. Selectee is required to complete the training and obtain IT Certification for this position within 6 months or be subject to termination.
  • Knowledge, skill and certification of an IAM Level III in order to maintain ISSM Position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience is defined as; Managing Cyber-Security IT Networks working as an Information System Security Manager (ISSM), supervising and leading IT Cyber-security Team members with their IT mission in a medical environment; safeguarding the Medical IT Community with cyber-security posture ensuring the business of healthcare continuum; applying knowledge and skill in applying methods for evaluating, implementing and disseminating IT Security Tools and procedures. This Position is at the IAM Level III ISSM.

In addition to the specialized experience listed above, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
