Duties

Help
  • As the Senior Civilian/Deputy of the Directorate, the incumbent plans, organizes, and oversees daily operations in support of Command missions and operations.
  • Translate broad guidance, with regard to objectives, into specific action and directions.
  • Manage the collective efforts of a multi-disciplined staff of military, active/reserve, and civilian personnel within the Directorates? divisions and branches in a manner consistent with the command?s mission, program objectives, and applicable laws.
  • Accomplishes and participates in special assignments/projects to include long-term planning, functional advice and policy guidance at the intersection of special operations, intelligence, and cyber operations.
  • As well as the continuity of management for the Director, as necessary, in the aforementioned areas of interest as they impact the Command.
  • Assign, direct, and evaluate work of subordinate elements.
  • Manage and supervise the execution of Directorate budget.

  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (SCI) Security Clearance.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Subject to short notice recall and may be required to wear a pager. Must reside within normal commuting distance of work site (50 miles).
  • May require temporary duty (TDY) travel approximately 30% or less of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating, scheduling and synchronizing the daily operations of support activities at the Directorate level or equivalent, to meet the requirements of Command missions and operations; and providing guidance and information on operational issues; and overseeing Directorate level, or equivalent, budget for expenditure of resources, compliance with regulations, and mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
