SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes: (a) Technical medical laboratory support work such as performing laboratory tests and examinations (chemical, microbiologic, hematologic and blood banking) and preparing reports of findings or (b) technical support work such as assisting with physical examinations (such as optical or audiometric tests, EKG, urine collection/processing), performing phlebotomy, operating medical equipment (such as audiometers, stereoscopic vision testers, and/or centrifuges), and documenting patients' medical information findings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-05.
OR
Successfully completed a half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as (a) Technical medical laboratory support work such as performing laboratory tests and examinations (chemical, microbiologic, hematologic and blood banking) and preparing reports of findings or (b) technical support work such as assisting with physical examinations (such as optical or audiometric tests, EKG, urine collection/processing), performing phlebotomy, operating medical equipment (such as audiometers, stereoscopic vision testers, and/or centrifuges), and documenting patients' medical information. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended.
