Assists Senior Mechanic with installing, adjusting, overhauling and regularly inspecting bowling facility electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment to include automatic pinsetter, automatic ball returns, speed cradle stops, automatic score and foul units, automatic ball cleaner, hole borers, and lane maintenance machines. Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment referring to manuals for diagrams and instructions. Follows manufacturers maintenance schedules. Conditions, maintains and repair bowling pins and lanes. For example, repair cracks, chips, and splinters using wood and plastic lane stock, sanding and recoating surfaces. Maintains required records and reports; initiates request for spare parts, supplies, and hand equipment. Performs general housekeeping tasks to ensure proper standards of appearance, cleanliness, and safety of assigned spaces. Performs other mechanical and electrical work to bowling facility as time and capabilities permit. Duties are performed to provide customer satisfaction and contribute positively to the success and profitability of the organization.
Must have formal training in bowling equipment repair and maintenance or a minimum of two year practical experience in this field. AMF/Qubica or Brunswick certification and training desirable as experience, but not necessary. Skill in the use of hand tools and ability to perform limited preventive maintenance such as cleaning and oiling equipment and conditioning lane surfaces. Ability to use common cleaning materials and equipment and to safely operate and adjust bowling equipment. Must be able to communicate verbally and be able to take written instructions from the supervisor and manual. Must have a valid driver’s license and must have or obtain First Aid/CPR certifications within first 90 days of employment.
