Summary

Serve as a Security Specialist responsible for the protection of sensitive or classified information, personnel, facilities, resources, processes, or other sensitive materials. Position is located in Arlington, VA.

Duties

Help
  • You will exercise expertise in executing and implementing the policies and procedures governing the protection of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) facilities, operations, information and material.
  • You will use delegated authority for independent reviews, analysis, and approval authorizations for SCIF construction and renovation projects.
  • You will evaluate the overall project cost, scheduling, contract requirements, and potential impact to fleet readiness, mission, and project success.
  • You will use expertise and experience to lead self-inspections, staff assistance visits and visual TEMPEST inspections for permanent, temporary and tactical aircraft, ship, shore and submarine based SCI facilities.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • May be subject to polygraph examination periodically

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties such as: 1) Providing guidance and direction relating to establishment of SCI Facilities within the designated AOR to ensure adherence with ICD 705 in order to identify budget and operational items of interest; 2) Evaluating the overall project cost, scheduling, contract requirements, and potential impact to fleet readiness, mission, and project success; 3) Exercising expertise in executing and implementing the policies and procedures governing the protection of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) facilities, operations, information and material; 4) Using delegated authority for independent reviews, analysis, and approval authorizations for SCIF construction and renovation projects.
