Summary

About the Position:
This position will be filled on a permanent basis. Initial overseas tour is for one year with possible extensions up to five years. Recruitment and Relocation Incentives may be authorized up to 25%. You may be entitled to post differential and allowances in addition to your base salary. Government housing is provided. Temporary storage of household goods costs will be paid for 1 year assignments. Domicile to duty transportation will be provided at no cost to employees.

Duties

Help
  • Manage an automated property book system support for the command in support of property management missions, (i.e. issue, transfer, receipt, storage, inventory, and disposition of excess property).
  • Monitor the effectiveness of automated supply and maintenance systems and their operations.
  • Provide receipt, storage, issue, and shipping services for the entire command.
  • Report to brigade on losses, gains, etc., in terms of lines and monetary worth of all property maintained/controlled.
  • Manage receipt of information relative to new standard office equipment, automated data processing equipment, issues, and change in organizational programs.
  • Provide guidance and training to unit supply and contractor personnel on requisitioning procedures.

  • Statutory return rights are granted for Department of Defense employees. For all other agencies possible administrative rights.
  • This is an Emergency Essential position. Key and Essential are not to be filled by persons with military recall status (one who is in status of a Ready Reserve, Standby Reserve or is military retiree subject to recall active duty).
  • You may be required to process through a deployment center, called the CRC, located at Camp Atterbury, Indiana.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
  • Vaccine screening is required. You may be required to take the series of Anthrax vaccines to include annual boosters
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a non-critical sensitive, secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete an overseas MOD15 deployment physical. Selection for assignments to this position will require annual physical examinations
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete an overseas deployment dental examination.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a current, valid U.S. Passport and driver's license.
  • This position requires you to travel within and potentially outside of country.
  • Pre-deployment processing session will include a 14-day quarantine and COVID-19 test at Camp Atterbury, IN. You may be required to quarantine again upon arrival in theater as well.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting superiors in maintaining the Property book, utilizing automated logistics systems to input supply information, and assisting Contracting Officer Representatives (COR) in all supply area programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Accounting, Business Management, Finance, and Logistics.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Additional information

  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
  • Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area.
  • Employees who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
  • Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
  • Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250.

It is the CRC's responsibility to prescreen civilian personnel records, conduct theater specific briefings and training, coordinate transportation, and issue of theater clothing and equipment. The deployment center is the final authority for declaring an individual deployable. If you are found non-deployable this offer may be withdrawn. Your appointment with the CRC will be made after the firm job offer is extended and an effective date has been established.
  • Domicile to duty transportation will be provided at no cost to employee.
  • Off base Government quarters (fully furnished apartments) are provided.
