Duties

Help
  • Provides staff assistance to managers and activities in various programs such as: intern programs, executive and management development programs, and long and short term training programs.
  • Develops and justifies the Organization's budgets for competitive professional development programs, and recommends corrective action where deficiencies are identified.
  • Formulates plans and accomplishes appropriate training and education through Army schools and courses, contract training, job rotation, on and off the job instruction, cooperative arrangements with colleges, and extension courses.
  • Makes field trips in connection with training activities for improving human resources development programs, evaluating, analyzing, and solving training related problems.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Performs a variety of duties necessary to plan and evaluate the Organization's human resources development program. Provides staff guidance for human resources development programs at approximately 80 field installations worldwide. Represents the Organization at conferences to discuss the administration of programs, and to defend resource needs and utilization.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Education
