This position serves as the Supervisory HR Specialist of the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Division of the Network's Human Resources Management Office. In collaboration with the VISN Human Resources Officer (HRO) and the VISN Deputy HRO, the position is responsible for the planning, developing, and implementing of the goals and objectives of the HRIS division.

The salary listed is the GS-13 salary range within VISN 23. Final salary determination will be based on the selectee's permanent duty station.
The selectee manages the daily operations of the Human Resources Information Systems Unit with the responsibility for integrating and coordinating all areas of the human resources management information systems and making recommendations and providing advice to executive leadership and management at the facility levels for improvements and changes.
The selectee assumes responsibility for the internal control and operation of service activities for the planning, directing and managing of the total human resources management utilities of the VISN HRIS.
The selectee ensures national program updates, changes, announcements, etc. are implemented locally, including all necessary trainings occur for proper utilization of the systems and their updates.
He/she works with HR leadership to develop and implement projects which establish a Human Resources Shared Service Center ideology within the VISN and assists in the implementation of OPM, VA, VHA, and VISN HR projects and mandates within the scope of HRIS operations.
Performs complex projects, which may include analysis of operational processes requiring application of statistical methodologies to measure, evaluate, and improve process performance, organizational effectiveness and resource efficiency.
Assists the HR functions in identifying unanswered questions, alternatives for consideration, and appropriate methods to solve problems related to integration of Human Capital (HC) and HR processes, potential impact on process performance, productivity, and related areas.
