Duties

Help
  • Serves as Work Leader by providing individual and team training in specific tasks and job techniques, and provides on-the-job training in accordance with established procedures and practices.
  • Identifies, distributes, and balances workload and tasks to team members in accordance with established workflow, and assures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
  • Uses information gathered from samples of site and field organizations to determine if space and dollar savings could be realized from reducing record retention requirements.
  • Conducts studies and prepares written justification for nonstandard equipment and submits recommendation for approval.
  • Plans, develops and maintains the records management program throughout the site to ensure compliance with the Department of Defense (DOD) and General Accounting Office (GAO) regulations concerning records management.
  • Maintains inventories and administrative records of reporting requirements.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized Experience Defined As: Using quantitative and qualitative techniques in order to perform various studies concerning records management data; Applying sampling and fact-finding techniques to gather information in order to determine compliance to regulations regarding the storage, maintenance and disposal of records; AND maintaining inventories and appropriate files on various records reporting requirements.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

One full year of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. If you are using education to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (http://www2.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/index.html).
