Summary

Serve as Deputy Chief Financial Officer(CFO) for Finance and as the Financial Manager for the Accounting Operations Office within the CFO. The incumbent is responsible for executing funds control and accounting responsibilities related to appropriation integrity, timelines of transactions, and compliance with NASA and Federal policies and regulations. Responsible for assuring the accuracy and consistency of financial information reflected in the Center's financial records and systems.

  • Advises and assists Centers and organizational management officials by supplying financial management advice required for management decision making.
  • Analyzes financial type data and provides guidance for key decision makers making adjustments and recommendations for corrective action.
  • Clearly communicates across Centers and organizations, providing financial assistance to manage programs/projects across the Agency.

Qualifications

Applicant must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level, which has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.

Experience that demonstrates expertise applying the concepts and principles of various financial management functions of interpreting Federal statutes, Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and other Government-wide regulations, directives, and policies and Agency directives and polices; preparing guidance and reconciling financial statements to ensure appropriate execution of all budget and resources toward an annual clean financial audit finding; management of financial systems and processes.

This is a temporary promotion or detail opportunity not to exceed two (2) years. This temporary promotion or detail may be terminated, extended or made permanent without further competition. Selectee(s) at the full performance level will be considered for a detail opportunity. If the assignment is not made permanent, the individual(s) selected may be returned to the same or similar position.
