Duties

Help
  • Responsible for the accession, storage, security, and disposition of intelligence, counterintelligence (CI), security investigations, operational files, and other records as directed by the DA G2.
  • Review, analyze, or research requests for accreditation of File Procurement Accounts or File Procurement Officers from other federal agencies and joint services.
  • Reviews material for accuracy, legality, and retention in accordance with Army regulations, the Privacy Act, and federal laws and statues.
  • Manages and applies policies and procedures to safeguard National security intelligence, counterintelligence, operational and personnel security related information to prevent the compromise or loss of classified information/material.
  • Perform reviews of requested sensitive paper or electronic intelligence, counterintelligence and personnel security dossiers.

  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counter-intelligence scope polygraph examination on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a single-scope background investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Performs occasional temporary duty travel 25% or less.

Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience with assisting in reviewing sensitive intelligence, counterintelligence and personnel security files, certifying approval or denial of release of investigative material to requesting agencies, or segregating material requiring special handling. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-07).

Education: Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B orJ.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills,and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as business administration. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification).

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
