About the Position: The Alaska District is seeking to fill a Supervisory Program Manager position located in the Program and Project Management Division, Military Branch, Army and Others Section. An ideal candidate will have strong experience in project and program management, possess an in-depth knowledge of Army and Air Force programs, have excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills, and be detail-oriented. Experience working with a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Duties

Help
  • Serves as the Program Manager responsible for Program development and managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, development, design, construction, and direction of major projects.
  • Conducts periodic program review and analysis to compare progress with original objectives and milestones.
  • Interfaces both internally and externally to ensure the corporate effort will result in quality, maintainable projects on time and at a reasonable cost.
  • Serves as the authoritative source for decisions and guidance dealing with compromises and changes in the District Project Management Business Processes (PMBP).
  • Represents the District as the primary point of contact for customers/stakeholders.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes leading design and/or construction projects to include project scope, budget and/or scheduling.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-12).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Education
