Duties

Help
  • You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Leader responsible for serving as a working leader accomplishing minor repairs to building structure and fixtures.
  • Trade skills include electrical, air conditioning repairs, and sheet metal mechanic.
  • Working alongside others, setting the pace, ensuring the work is completed correctly and in a timely manner and ensuring there is enough work for all workers present.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to Supervise or Lead as an Maintenance Mechanic Leader: conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment, performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing AC, electrical and electrical fire alarm issues and correcting them. Assist in troubleshooting and repairing AC, electrical/electronic/fire alarm equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, power supplies gages and test equipment. Responsible for all necessary reporting and required paperwork. I perform work in multiple trade areas which include air conditioning, electrical, and sheet metal mechanic. I work alongside co-workers, setting the pace and completing task assigned on time. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work involves strenuous, heavy physical effort in constantly reaching, bending and turning. Equipment worked on is large and must be moved in and out of specific locations. Frequently sets up parts and equipment that weigh up to 75 pounds and occasionally heavier. Ladders scaffolds and platforms may be used when working systems. When serving as either operator or boiler plant equipment mechanic, incumbent works in awkward and cramped positions.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside, and outside in all types of weather. When serving as operator, incumbent works in awkward and cramped positions when making minor repairs. May be exposed to the danger of boiler bursts, carbon monoxide poisoning, scalds, and may be exposed to gas, oil or sulfur fumes. The mechanic is exposed to gas and smoke, ash scalding water and burns from contact with heated elements of the systems. Protective devices such as but not limited to earplugs, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, hard hat and safety shoes is required. Long trousers or coveralls and shirt or tee shirt with sleeves are worn.
