Duties

Help
  • Conducts analysis focusing on Army manpower requirements management programs, Total Army Analysis (TAA) and studies established to maximize the efficiency and value of missions and functions.
  • Leads in organizing and conducting management manpower studies and single point studies of organizational efficiency and productivity and recommends changes or improvements in organization, staffing, work methods, and procedures.
  • Develops comprehensive reports of findings to ensure the best possible solutions, recommendations, advice, and assistance are provided.
  • Interprets and promulgates policies and doctrinal regulations related to management functions, programs, and methodologies such as organization study, management study, efficiency review, and requirements determination.
  • Maintains information such as various reports, organization charts, and other sources that characterize agencies in order to integrate management program objectives into agency concepts of management and operations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includesanalyzing workload-based approaches for manpower requirements determination, organizational design, and workflow process mapping; conducting and analyzing manpower reviews; establishing, revising, and recommending formal changes to organizational missions, functions, structures, and civilian manpower requirements; participating in studies related to force management programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
