Duties

Help
  • You will Install new heating equipment motors, blowers, pilots, and igniters and other heating related equipment for facilities.
  • You will conduct detailed scopes of work and estimates of labor and materials for the repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • You will use diagnostic equipment to determine reasons for mechanical defects or mechanical performance problems.
  • You will determine materials and information necessary to accomplish planning, scheduling, inspection, and reporting.
  • You will troubleshoot domestic heating equipment and systems to locate and repair deficiencies.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license. And maintain on base driving privileges once obtained.
  • The employee will be required to furnish normal tools of the trade used on a day to day basis
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Incumbent will also be subject to call back for work during off duty hours when an emergency arises.
  • The employee must be EPA Certified in Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • The employee will utilize all required safety practices and equipment in the performance of the duties assigned to this position.

Incumbent may be required to remain at work in dismissal or closure situations, e.g. destructive weather conditions such as, but not limited to, ice and snowstorms, high winds, and hurricanes, unless otherwise directed by the supervisor. Also, in the event the emergency situation occurs during shift rotation, the employee reporting for the next shift is required to report for duty unless otherwise advised by his/her supervisor and the employee at work stays until he/she is relieved by shift replacement or approved by supervisor to leave.
