    Responsibilities

    As a Supervisory Biologist, you will perform the following duties:

    • Oversee the preparation and execution of the annual budget, engage in discussions about Marine Mammal Laboratory (MML) science priorities, track external and internal requirements and associated deadlines.
    • Provide oversight for the annual development of the Alaska marine mammal stock assessment reports, including routine communication with involved Alaska Region and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Headquarters staff.
    • Evaluate work performance and develop performance standards for staff in order to improve internal functions to better accomplish mission objectives.
    • Serve as the point of contact between the Director and Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) leadership in matters of business processes such as procurement, time and attendance, and human resources.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Up to 20% of domestic travel may be required.
