Duties

Help
  • Provide financial advisory services to organization.
  • Provide expertise and guidance regarding the use of accounting procedures.
  • Supervise the administrative operations of the Resource Management Office Specialized.
  • Develop and maintain the financial management system, ensuring compatibility with requirements of the Army, and that it meets user needs for accurate, timely financial data and processing.
  • Utilize computers to record, analyze and report financial data and plans.
  • Coordinate and direct management analysis reviews.
  • Establish controls, using policy guidelines and generally accepted accounting standards, for the prevention of waste, fraud and mismanagement.
  • Act as certifying officer for U.S. Government, with responsibility for the correctness and propriety of all Reserve Personnel Army (RPA) and Operations and Maintenance Army Reserve (OMAR) appropriation payments.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which involves experience developing, coordinating and maintaining the management of fiscal, budget, accounting and financial services, planning/directing/evaluating work of various types of employees, utilizing various financial systems (such as General Fund Enterprise Business Systems (GFEBS) and Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A)) to initiate reports, perform research, analyze financial transactions or adjustments, or resolve financial data discrepancies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).


You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

  • Position may be filled as a temporary promotion, temporary reassignment, or temporary change to lower grade NTE 12 months by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions, reassignments, or change to lower grades may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition.
  • Position may be filled as a temporary appointment NTE 12 months, if a candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.
  • Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
