Duties

Help
  • Receives freight; checks for completeness, identification, amount and condition.
  • Operates a forklift which is capable of lifting loads weighing less than 50,000 pounds .
  • Drives/operates truck tractor and semi-trailer combination units.
  • Acts as the system administrator for the Enterprise Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Management Information System (EESOH-MIS).

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator) without more than normal supervision. I am able to perform common tasks to include reading and interpreting instructions; determine when tools and equipment should be sent for test, repair, or calibration; and operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts and trucks with up to 50,000 pounds load capacity with tilt bed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work regularly involves heavy lifting and carrying of objects up to 45 pounds; and, at times, involves objects weighing in excess of 80 pounds. Work also requires considerable physical effort such as reaching, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling and climbing.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in extreme weather conditions ranging from -30 degrees to 80 degrees Fahrenheit with winds ranging from zero to 45 miles per hour. Works in a warehouse which may be poorly lighted, cold, damp, and drafty. May be exposed to dust, dirt, and grease. The possibility of cuts, bruises, strains, and falls from ladders or conveyances may occur. May also be exposed to injuries while driving, loading or unloading vehicles. Works closely with other employees to accomplish assignments will be required.
