This is a developmental position; duties listed below will be performed in a developmental capacity at the GS-06 grade level. At the full performance, GS-07, the incumbent will:
Respond to and investigate emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.
Conduct and/or participate in civilian training regarding various law enforcement topics conducted on an Army installation.
Upon notification, respond to Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) alarms and determine probable cause (actual or false alarm).
Perform access control duties by applying local instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Pre-Planned Responses (PPR), Random Anti-terrorism Measure (RAM), and Force Protection (FP) Conditions to control vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
Protect personnel, material, tactical military assets, and high value assets by executing daily RAM and supplemental anti-terrorism measures during increased force protection conditions.
Employ National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS) protocols to establish command and control, develop a course of action to contain, mitigate, and recover from the incident.
Exercise search and arrest authority, detain witnesses, apprehend suspects, interview witnesses and other persons involved.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
In accordance with AR 600-85, a DA 5019R Condition of Employment must be signed for mandatory drug testing.
This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
Position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
Incumbent must have successfully graduated from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy, unless incumbent has a current approved waiver from the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
In accordance with Army Regulation 190-56 incumbent must meet all requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
In accordance with Army Regulation 190-56 incumbent must take and pass an initial Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 30 days of hire, and annually thereafter.
In accordance with Army Regulation 190-56 incumbent complete an initial Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certification, and an annual re-certification requirement.
Must be able to obtain clearance certification with the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN), Public Safety Commission, for access to and exposure to law enforcement sensitive information and operation of NLETS/ NCIC terminals.
In accordance with Army Regulation 190-56 incumbent must successfully pass a pre-employment and recurring medical / psychiatric evaluation.
In accordance with Army Regulation 190-56 must be able to qualify initially and at a minimum, semi-annually re-certify with assigned weapon(s) and handling of assigned weapon(s) to include less than lethal weapons.
Incumbent is subject to possible civil and criminal action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
