Engages in effective management practices including policy writing, planning, program, organization, quality management, program analysis, budget, etc.
Conduct comprehensive clinical intake interviews with children and adult family members,
Provide therapeutic treatment to victims, offenders and family members of those involved in domestic violence or child abuse or neglect.
Perform full range of supervisory duties that includes assigning work, evaluating employee performance and taking disciplinary actions.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
A one-year supervisory probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and certification.
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
A current and valid state driver's license is required

Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment physical exam.

Basic Requirement for Supervisory Social Worker (Family Advocacy).
Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or equivalent in the Federal government managing day-to-day clinical operations of a family advocacy program that includes directing, coordinating and overseeing supervisory and administrative personnel; development and maintenance of professional standards of service; initiating and effecting changes in methods that will promote efficient practice; interviewing victims, offenders, children and family members regarding allegations of abuse or neglect; and providing therapeutic treatment to victims, offenders and family members of those involved in domestic violence or child abuse or neglect.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.
