Duties

Help
  • You will generate reports identifying corrective measures necessary to conserve energy and utilities.
  • You will use an application software (e.g., Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software) to provide status or compile statistics.
  • You will manage data contained in facilities information systems, (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Maximo) to ensure information is accurate.
  • You will discuss project issues with senior level management to arrive at alternative solutions.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assist in scheduling, coordinating, and reviewing utility outages, utility locates, and dig permits; 2) Assist in preparing reports, spreadsheets, flowcharts, forms, and presentations; and 3) Input data into timekeeping and/or work order systems (i.e., SLCADA, MAXIMO).

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

The following can be used to substitute experience to meet basic qualifications at the GS-09 level. Applicants must possess two full years of graduate level education that is directly related to the position being filled.

Combining Experience and Education: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate school education and experience are also qualifying. If education is used to meet specialized experience requirements, then such education must include courses directly related to the work of the position. (When crediting education, prorate the number of hours of related courses required as a proportion of the total education to be used.)

A forty hour work week is typical for this position.

This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

Recruitment incentives may be authorized to eligible new hires.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.

Physical Demands: Requires average good health, with sufficiently good vision with or without glasses, and normal hearing ability. Incumbent maybe required to walk significant distances to verify utility system.

Work Environment: Usually works in an office environment, but will be required to make on-site and off-station visits to inspect work sites, field verify utility systems, coordinate utility locates and dig permits.

A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
