Duties

Help
  • The Federal Executive Board (FEB) serves as a model for partnership-based government by identifying common ground and building cooperative relationships across Federal government and non-Federal agencies.
  • The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the principal staff assistant to the FEB Chairperson.
  • The Executive Director works under the general administrative direction of the FEB Chairperson and provides a full range of staff functions to the Chairperson and other members of the Board.
  • Provides leadership to focus FEB activities on three primary strategic goals defined by Office of Personnel Management (OPM): Emergency Preparedness, Employee Safety, and Security; Workforce Development and Support; and Strategic Partnerships.
  • Instrumental in the directing and formulation of planning of Board programs and projects.
  • Coordinates, plans, organizes, surveys and conducts analyses and studies of policy issues in the Federal community.
  • Drafts study plans, gathers data, analyzes data, identifies problem areas, and develops and presents alternatives and recommendations based on study findings to the FEB membership.
  • Coordinates, plans, and implements all FEB activities associated with emergency preparedness, employee safety, and security programs.
  • Coordinates and plans FEB Workforce Development and Support programs, including interagency training and performance recognition events.
  • The incumbent performs cost-benefit analysis prior to allocating FEB resources to programs sponsored in partnership with other organizations that demonstrate the value of collaboration.
  • Initiate contact with local, county, and state government officials, members of Congress and their staffs, and community and civic leaders to advise them about ongoing FEB efforts to bring government closer to the people and their concerns.
  • Is responsible for briefing the Chairperson on priorities, progress of committees and other matters requiring action.
  • Supervises activities of clerical/professional staff assigned to FEB projects

In order to qualify, you must meet the expereince requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 pay band or equivalent GS-13 level in Federal service illustrating the following: Experience planning and executing policies and programs, and providing guidance in one or more of the following areas: emergency preparedness, workforce development, and intergovernmental and interagency collaboration and community outreach. Conducting program evaluations to identify areas of ineffectiveness and/or inefficiency, recommending solutions, and long/short range strategic planning. Experience should include program or project management responsibility in the areas listed. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM)
