Summary

About the Position: This position is part of the Reemployed Annuitants Cadre. Employees occupying these positions will provide emergency support to disaster stricken areas throughout the United States. Employee must pass a stringent medical screening and be prepared to live and work in extremely austere conditions.

This position is a temp position for 1 year, however at the discretion of management the position may be converted to a term position up to a maximum NTE 4 years.

Duties

Help
  • Manage the efficiency and effective coordination and accomplishment of projects, to include environment studies, designs and remediation during natural disasters or emergencies.
  • Implement corporate decisions, guidance, laws, regulation, and policy in the development of the project and intermediate products.
  • Negotiate, and integrate all functions (i.e., plan, design, cost engineering, construction, real estate, contracting etc.
  • Coordinate the planning, design, cost engineering, construction, and environmental considerations, for engineering projects.
  • Apply skill and expertise in advanced engineering, architectural, biological or physical science theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods sufficient to apply experimental theories and/or new applications or developments
  • Execute significant projects representing an important segment of the agency's operating programs, or affecting the welfare of the public and/or the sustainability of natural resources and the environment during natural disasters or emergencies.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

In addition to the educational qualification, to qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience conducting engineering and/or physical science investigations of natural disasters and/or emergency projects; and conducting research, field investigations, lab analysis, regarding natural disasters/emergencies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
