Duties

Help
  • You will use preservation techniques for records maintained in a historical archives collection.
  • You will assist higher-graded Archivists in answering technical and general inquiries on historical properties in a collection.
  • You will assist higher-graded Archivists in arranging historical archives collections, both paper and digital.
  • You will research and develop information, electronic messages, and handouts for tours, social media and Digital Signage.

Qualifications

For the GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: 1) managing an Archives Branch Digitalization program, including overseeing and documenting document cleanup, preparation, tracking and, quality control; 2) managing requests for information from internal and external users; and 3) researching a preparing archival records for posting on social media sites.

For the GS-06:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: 1) collecting, arranging, describing, maintaining, and providing access to records that are sent to a archives center; 2) assisting other technicians and archivists in arrangement and description of records, reference and research assistance, and preservation and security of records; and 3) assisting in developing and presenting tours, information briefs, handouts, etc. for both in-house and outside the branch.
