Summary

You will work in IT Operations and Services (ITOPS), Service Management and Planning (SMP), Service Delivery Management (SDM), Performance Reporting Office (PR). The incumbent serves as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist responsible for the full range of duties associated with supporting one or more IT Specialty areas in support of the division. Duties include providing daily support, development, design, implementation and management of reporting in support of COVID.

This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19.

Physical Demands: The work is sedentary but may involve periods of walking, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, moving (up to 50 pounds) components and supplies, reaching, pulling, and working at a keyboard and monitor. Subject to call back outside of tour of duty.

Major Duties:

  • Implementing and managing data warehousing projects
  • Developing recommendations for application of information technology and plans to satisfy installation requirements
  • Applying data management and data standardization principles to software engineering projects
  • Evaluating contractor procedures for tasks related to the implementation of software applications.

The Selective Placement Factor for this position is: Experience managing, designing, supporting, implementing, and integrating in the area of Web or Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) development for producing designs and solutions for an enterprise data mart or warehouse solution

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.

GS-13 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is: tracking and monitoring the data warehouse and reporting application on a continual basis; formulating long and short-range projects in the modification of systems, software, hardware, and networks; performing life cycle management; conducting hands-on testing of products; experience with software engineering methodologies, computer operating and application software, data communications, and computer hardware; evaluate state-of-the art products, performing studies, and developing future plans for application, installation, and development within software engineering standards.

There is no educational substitution for the GS-13 level.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
