Duties

Help

The incumbent performs a wide range of administrative, analytical, and coordinative activities in providing executive staff support essential to the efficient and effective functioning of the OIG offices. The work performed relates to the practical and technical aspects of office automation with minimum travel between the OIG office locations when needed. The position includes the following duties and responsibilities such as:

  • Uses a variety of Microsoft O365 applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint to prepare correspondences, technical reports, briefings and presentations to ensure proper spelling, grammar, format, and arrangement of materials; develops web-based data storage and access to staff.
  • Develops standardized processes and procedures for the administrative team. Clarifies complex guidelines and program information to ensure understanding and adherence across OIG components.

  •  Serves as a WebTA timekeeper and bi-weekly coordinates with supervisors for the timely submission of time and attendance records for OIG employees and backs up other Program Support Assistants in their absence as needed.
  • The incumbent is a purchase card and travel holder responsible for purchasing supplies; contract requirement, and government travel reimbursement and voucher payments; and reconciles multiple budget related transactions.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
You may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-11, if you possess the specialize experience, education, or a combination of the two.

Specialized Experience for the GS-11


One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-09 performing all three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:


1.   Experience in researching and analyzing administrative issues and/or problems.
2.   Experience utilizing Microsoft applications such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.  
3.   Experience in preparing written reports and briefing materials.

OR

A combination of both education and experience in which the total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related

Specialized Experience for the GS-12


One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-11 performing all three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:


1.    Experience in analytical methods and techniques in order to acquire relevant information through document research, surveys, or personal contacts; organize and evaluate the information; and develop sound conclusions supported by the data. 


2.   Experience in administrative principles and practices. 


3.   Experience in researching and analyzing issues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). You may meet the minimum qualifications of this position by meeting the following education options.

Non-Essential: This position is considered non-essential for purposes of reporting to work during federal government closures.

Telework: This position is telework eligible. At the discretion of the supervisor, generally employees may be authorized to telework one day per week if they are on regular 8-hour work schedule.  Teleworkers may participate in some Alternative Work Schedules (AWS) in combination with a Telework Agreement. However, all employees must work from the official worksite location a minimum of four (4) days per work week.  

Bargaining Unit: This position is not included in the bargaining unit.

Selections: Agencies have broad authority under law to hire from any appropriate source of eligibles and may fill a vacancy in the competitive service by any method authorized. You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

We use a multi-step process to review and evaluate applicants:

1.    Eligibility and Minimum Qualifications

2.    Rating and Ranking
