Investigate and analyze material damage, personal injury accidents, and cases of occupational illnesses.
Ensure compliance and enforcement of various safety and occupational health subprograms.
Survey and appraise conditions affecting the health, efficiency and environment of personnel to eliminate or minimize unhealthful conditions.
Provide leadership, guidance, and advice to staff, tenants and unit/directorate collateral/ additional duty safety officers in the interpretation of regulations/standards to achieve sound program objectives.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
Must Obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License to operate vehicles.
Lifting up to 40 lbs required.
Physical examination required.
May be required to use personal protective equipment such as respirators, goggles/safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other protective clothing.
Perform moderately strenuous work involving some physical exertion, such as standing for long periods, bending and stooping to observe and study work operations in an industrial, storage or comparable work area.
