    Responsibilities

    As a Supervisory Underwriter, you will:

    • Plan and direct all technical underwriting, insurance endorsement and related functions. This includes the underwriting and related technical review of residential mortgage loans for the purchase, refinance, or substantial rehabilitation for properties.
    • Monitor status of goal accomplishment. Advises the Director of workload and potential problems in attainment of goals and objectives.
    • Interpret HUD technical instructions and instructs personnel in the interpretation of policy procedures and requirements to ensure Departmental regulations are initiated and complied with. Develops and recommends improved processing procedures.
    • Assure that the staff is operating in accordance with current Departmental policies, standards, and procedures and those objectives, deadlines and service requirements established by the Director are achieved. Maintains quality control over all assigned functions and is responsible to the Director for the accuracy and timeliness of all decisions.

    Occasional travel - 1-5 Nights per month
