About the position:
This position will be assigned to the Little Rock AFB, AR - Child Development Center.

This position is guaranteed a minimum of 35 hours but can be scheduled to a maximum of 40 hours per week.

Physical Effort: Light to moderate physical effort in lifting up to 45 pounds or pushing carts. Constantly standing and walking.

Duties

Help

Sets up food carts and child care room tables with hot and cold foods including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages. Prepares tables and service stands by cleaning and setting up necessary condiments, linens, flatware, and other articles.

Prepares fruits and vegetables for cooking and serving by washing, peeling, scraping, and dicing. Cuts and shreds lettuce, slices tomatoes, cuts lemons, prepares butter chips, and open cans. Portions out food by placing uniform amount in small serving dishes.

Cleans equipment in kitchen and dining area. Washes dishes, pots, pans, glasses, and flatware. Operates mechanical dishwasher. Clears and cleans tables. Sweeps, mops, and waxes floors. Disposes of food wastes and trash.

Moves heavy garbage cans and assists in unloading supply trucks and storing heavy supplies.

  • This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
No prior training or work experience is required. Must be able to follow directions in food preparation and kitchen cleaning and food serving. Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
