Help

Logistics Management Specialist

  • Develops, implements and evaluates the logistic policies for the organization.
  • Ensures compliance with the command supply discipline program, command maintenance discipline program, and other directed command inspection programs.
  • Provides guidance and funds management for all decentralized logistic funds.
  • May be required to represent the National Guard and the unit Commander in the community.
  • Provides technical guidance and assistance to all organizational logistic personnel pertaining to the accountability of all property assigned to the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Appointment Factor(s): This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible military assignment in the Texas Army National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Applicants who are not currently employed with the agency are not eligible for this position.

Areas of Consideration: In-Service/Onboard only. This includes:

  • All currently employed full-time permanent, indefinite and temporary personnel of the Texas Army National Guard.
Incentives: Acceptance of a military Federal technician position may result in termination and / or repayment of military incentives. Please check your contract and contact your servicing Education Services (Incentives) office or the Recruiting/Retention office.

Remarks:
  • This is a Temporary Indefinite position which may convert to Permanent at a later date without further competition.
  • Texas Army National Guard Membership is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.

  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • This is a Bargaining Unit position.

Military Requirements:

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. Applicant must be Duty MOS/AOC/Branch assigned to a compatible position in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations upon selection. If selected and not currently Duty MOS/AOC/Branch assigned, entrance on duty date will be delayed until assignment in the appropriate Duty MOS/AOC/Branch is verified.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-09 grade level your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting the following:

Specialized Experience Required
Must have at least 24 monthsexperience, education, or training involving detailed knowledge of organizations and their functions in logistical support (i.e., supply, maintenance, quality assurance, facilities), experience integrating actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to meet program goals, experience interpreting and applying regulations, laws or practices, and experience planning and organizing work assignments.
