Summary

The incumbent of this position will serve as a Public Health Analyst for the Extramural Program. Utilize state/local public health program experience to plan, implement and evaluate public health programs aimed at addressing National Center priorities. Provide advice to management and clients on appropriate methods and procedures. Evaluate information and initiates research to validate existing policy, and/or to recommend new programs or policies.

Duties

Help

As a Public Health Analyst (Extramural Resources), you will:

  • Exercises management responsibilities related to the initiation, administration, and/or close-out of grants, and/or cooperative agreements, including responsibility for monitoring performance for assigned public health programs.
  • Manage (or assists in the management of) grant/cooperative agreement pre-application agreement, award, administration, and/or close-out activities of public health programs.
  • Research, develop, and evaluate key public health policies, procedures, and guidelines; design and conduct comprehensive studies to identify and propose solutions.
  • Perform legislative process to serve as a resource and authority to executive management on congressional/legislative activity affecting domestic or international public health programs.
  • Conduct studies and perform other analytical work related to the planning, development, organization, administration, evaluation, and delivery of public health programs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level of difficulty and responsibility in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.

Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience with management and oversight of procurements for an extramural resource program by monitoring and tracking management of the extramural resource program.
