About the position:
This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Facility.

The position is a flexible position, which means you are not guaranteed hours or benefits but could work anywhere between 0 and 40 hours per week. Flex employees will be eligible for the use of the fitness center, lodging, and other activities. Position requires working irregular schedules, to include weekends, holidays, and all shifts.

Duties

Help

  • Performs and/or assists in operation and maintenance of recreational facilities.
  • Establishes schedule of events as well as the rules and regulations to be observed.
  • Tests water-skiing and boating equipment for safe operation.
  • Demonstrates safety and conservation techniques for campsites, water sports area, firing range, and hunting areas.
  • Demonstrates equipment and techniques of various outdoor activities, such as, camping, swimming, and boating.
  • Sets up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, tournaments, and practice games when such assignments require a practical knowledge of the rules and procedures of such activities.
Inspects outdoor recreation equipment and areas for use.

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience which provided a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity.



Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
