Duties

Help
  • Advise on matters pertaining to counterintelligence and Human intelligence operations.
  • Persuade, influence, and gain concurrence.
  • Influence changes to policies and procedures within the command.
  • Develop and provide briefings to the command intelligence officers.
  • Establish and maintain intelligence ties throughout the intelligence community.
  • Coordinate with other military services, federal law enforcement and intelligence organizations.
  • Direct highly specialized operations and contingency plans.
  • Develop and manage innovative strategies/plans.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for Secret Compartmented Information (SCI) access depending on organizational assignment/duty location.
  • Position is designated as Emergency-Essential.
  • Must sign a mobility agreement.
  • A medical examination and immunization screening are required.
  • Will be required to comply with the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
  • Position may require employee to wear a uniform and/or protective clothing.
  • Will be expected to live in field conditions.
  • May be required to work irregular Shifts/hours.
  • Maybe required to undergo psychological testing depending on organizational assignment.
  • May be required to perform duties under austere and potentially hazardous conditions (to include inclement weather) during exercises and deployment operations.
  • May be required to deploy into areas in which hostile action may occur.
  • Subject to short notice recall. Must reside within normal commuting distance of Fort Bragg (50 Miles).
  • Must be able to comply with all federal agency security and medical requirements in order to obtain Staff-Like-Access. Following initial adjudication of access, individual must be able to maintain qualifications.

Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.Specialized experience is defined as: 1. experience planning and executing counterintelligence operations or 2. experience planning and executing human intelligence (HUMINT) operations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).

Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled.This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

  • TERM: This announcement is for a term position. Permanent employees who apply, are selected for, and ultimately accept this position will be converted to a term appointment. Term positions in DCIPS may be extended up to a maximum of five years. This position may be converted to permanent without further competition after completion of two years of continuous service in this position.
