Duties

Help

Work involves account maintenance, clerical, and accounting technician support positions requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures in performing or supervising the examination, verification, and maintenance of accounts and accounting data. Also includes positions that perform technical audit functions, develop or install revised accounting procedures, or perform similar quasi-professional accounting.

  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov.
  • Position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
  • PCS expenses will not be paid.
  • DD Form 214's are required for Veterans Preference Verification.
  • Optional Form 306 is a required form, or you will be disqualified.
  • Reference Worksheet is a required form, or you will be disqualified.
  • Direct Deposit is required.
  • Favorable background check is required.
  • Once the travel ban is lifted, minimum travel will be required for training.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education, or training involving arithmetic principles, attention to detail, and application of established procedures for recording and compiling data. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months experience, education, or training of total accounting procedures. Experience planning, organizing and coordinating work in order to resolve problems that occur.

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for GS-4 positions. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience for GS-5 positions.

You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
