Duties

Help

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Financial Management Division, Office of Administration, Operational Support Division. The Supervisory Government Information Specialist will perform the following duties:

  • Supervising a group of employees performing work at the GS-13 level providing administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work.
  • Coordinating the work efforts of technical personnel in conducting conceptual systems analysis, evaluations or investigations of highly unstructured and interconnected problems.
  • Serving as principal technical arbitrator and agency expert for complex issues and conflicts relating to statutory obligations.
  • Employing extensive knowledge of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts.
  • Advising high level officials on all aspects of FOIA and PA issues and recommending proper disposition of non-agency request and transferring to the proper agency as an independent FOIA/PA case point of contact.
  • Analyzing legislation, developing standards, regulations and or policies that impact FOIA matters DEA wide.

Qualifications

Applicant must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government performing the following duties: supervising and/or leading major Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)/ Privacy Act (PA) projects utilizing a wide range of evaluative and analytical methods and techniques; applying expert knowledge of and skill in interpreting Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act, and as it relates to requests, projects and agency policy; ability to effectively communicate with internal and external Stakeholders and Customers of varied levels both orally and in writing
