As Director, Office of Acquisition Services, you will:
All competitive candidates for SES positions with the federal government must demonstrate leadership experience indicative of senior executive level management capability. To meet the qualification requirements for this position, you must show in your resume that you possess the six Fundamental Competencies, the five Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs), and the Professional/Technical Qualifications (PTQs) listed below. BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
A. Completion of all mandatory training prescribed by the head of the agency for progression to GS-13 or higher level contracting positions, including at least 4-years experience in contracting or related positions. At least 1 year of that experience must have been specialized experience at or equivalent to work at the next lower level of the position, and must have provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the work of the position.

A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
C. Exceptions: Employees in GS-1102 positions will be considered to have met the standard for positions they occupy on January 1, 2000. This also applies to positions at the same grade in the same agency or other agencies if the specialized experience requirements are met. However, applicants will have to meet the basic requirements and specialized experience requirements in order to qualify for promotion to a higher grade.
In addition to meeting the basic qualification requirements, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirements described in the specialized experience statement below.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
You must have one year of specialized experience directly related to the position that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position to include senior managerial and leadership experience with coordinating the functions of subordinate managers and specialized staff in the management of acquisition policy/procedures, operations, data management, and program analysis of acquisition and contract management services.
This executive experience includes serving in a managerial capacity to a large and diverse organization with responsibility for promoting economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the administration of programs and operations.
NOTE:This position requires a FAC-C Level III Certification, and at least four years of contracting experience, 24 semester hours of business-related courses (accounting, law, business, finance, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, and organization and management) and baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution, and all required training for FAC-C Level III.
