This position will be located in one of the following locations: Arlington, VA, Atlanta, GA (Decatur, GA), Austin, TX, Bay Pines, FL, Baltimore, MD, Bedford, MA, Chicago, IL (Hines, IL), Dallas, TX, Kansas City, MO, Seattle, WA, Los Angeles, CA, San Diego, CA, Washington, DC.

The Supervisor IT Specialist, located in the Office of Management and Administration, is responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation, and administration of OIG Management Information Systems, technical assistance for the Audit, Investigative, and Health Care Inspection staff, network systems management, and development of new techniques and applications systems for OIG personnel and offices.

As a The Supervisor IT Specialist, you will:
- Serve as the technical authority and consultant for the Chief Information Officer and OIG field sites concerning various aspects of systems administration, maintenance modifications and development of systems software, and complex telecommunications.
- Serve as the network manager for OIG field systems. Administers all network hardware and software configurations; develop and maintain technical standards, procedures, and guidelines for network development, implementation, and management; establishes performance metrics; and evaluates and measures LAN performance.
- Assign and coordinate the work of the assigned section to diagnose sources of service interruptions and to develop and implement corrective actions. Ensure that the Section quickly and accurately isolates the causes of service problems; correctly identify and implement necessary corrective action; and works proactively to prevent future disruptions.
- Oversee, monitor, and control all system maintenance and repair activities as well as software and hardware enhancements.
- Monitor and coordinate a full service customer support unit that diagnose and resolve complex problems in response to customer reported incidents. Track reported problems to recognize trends and initiates large scale corrective action to prevent similar future issues. Ensures support provided minimizes interruptions in customers' ability to carry out line activities.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: 
- Experience working in an information technology (IT) unit that provides a wide-range of customer support (service desk), configures hardware and software, and procures IT equipment, AND
- Experience managing at least three major information technology projects, to include setting priorities for other staff members and/or contractors, planning work to be completed, and providing performance feedback, AND
- Experience collaborating with external and internal stakeholders to establish IT-specific policies and procedures.

In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year supervisory probationary period may be required.
- Public Trust – Background Investigation will be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
