As a SUPERVISORY CONSERVATOR, you will:

-Serve as supervisory conservator and technical expert responsible for planning, overseeing and providing recurring and ad hoc conservation and preservation services for the Branch and regional facilities, including analyzing, reviewing, and making long-term procedural and strategic recommendations to the Preservation Officer regarding Branch conservation and preservation protocols.
-Report to the Preservation Program Officer and works with that supervisor and the Senior Supervisory Preservation Specialist to develop, coordinate and implement annual work plans for the St. Louis Branch in regard to conservation and providing input on reformatting of textual and non-textual records to meet the Branch's long-term strategic goals.
-Develop treatment-based performance standards and assists the Supervisory Preservation Specialist with the development of other project-based standards.
-Conduct or participate in the examination and, when appropriate, the treatment of documents within the holdings of NPRC or regional archival facilities.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
-Experience determining the nature and condition of archival records requiring stabilization and conservation treatment; AND
-Experience preparing written treatment proposals for records, including selection of treatment options, procedures, methods and techniques, and materials to be used; AND
-Experience leading and mentoring a small group or team;
-Experience developing and presenting training to others regarding conservations and techniques.


In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
