Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized person are admitted to the area. Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed. Provides day-to-day advice and guidance to employees for work assignments relays instructions from the supervisor for work assignments; gets the work started and sets the work pace; demonstrates work methods and provides work-related guidance; ensures the worksite materials and tools are available; ensures that employees follow security and safety rules. Performs limited management functions which may include establishing the work schedule, approving/disapproving leave request, opening and closing the facility, and making daily deposits.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Ability to lead 3 or more recreation aids or recreation assistants. Must have experience which provides a practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures and skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable. Must have and approved and current nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (infant, child and adult) training. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with inquiries (NACI), State Criminal History Repository Check (SCHRC) and Installation Records Check (IRC).
