Duties

Help
  • You will conduct short and long-range installation planning and resource management of efforts associated with In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) functions ensuring integration of services and day-to-day technical operations.
  • You will plan and deliver of a full range of customer support services to meet specific customer requirements of Information Warfare (IW) C4ISR/IT installations onboard ships.
  • You will define post-implementation support requirements, including overseeing training and development of training aids.
  • You will coordinate equipment and personnel requirements with Type Commanders (TYCOMs), and other stakeholders to ensure successful completion of installation and technical support requirements.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Production, Quality and Manufacturing at Level I. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 22 within 6 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites and potentially hazardous locations.
  • You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country?s laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require up to 25% travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites which could and potentially hazardous locations.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to NR-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Troubleshooting and analyzing system performance on Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems to support Testing and Operational phases at the Force and Platform levels;2) Mentoring logistics and life cycle stakeholders to support Naval readiness;3) Working with virtual team members, of multiple disciplines, to build coalitions across a geographically dispersed organization;4) Facilitating highly diverse groups of technically skilled team members to plan, initiate, monitor and deliver Information Warfare (IW) solutions;5) Applying a wide range of shipboard installation concepts, practices, regulations, policies, and precedents to support ship modernization and maintenance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: You must be able to spend from 6 up to 12 hours per day on board ships and be capable of; walking all spaces, climbing up and down shipboard ladders and masts. You must be physically capable to look above, below and behind shipboard equipment cabinets, in overheads and behind bulkheads.

Tour of duty will be 36 months.

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.

Military Spouses and Family Members may apply 30 days before their anticipated arrival date. However, they will not receive preference until arrival at the foreign location. Additional documentation may be required prior to granting preference.

Military spouses and family members who are appointed may not extend longer than 2 months following the transfer of the sponsor from the commuting area of the foreign duty station; 2 months beyond the separation of the appointee's sponsor; or any time beyond the time employee ceases to be a family member.
