Duties

Help

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Advising Service Chiefs and Division Management with operational responsibility for all future coverage plans and long term projects, including, but not limited to: assignments, financial planning and resource management.
  • Project planning for the Latin America Division in collaboration with other Divisions and/or media partners in the region.
  • Ensuring that resources are provided for the staff and coverage in the area of responsibility are used prudently.
  • Driving and coordinating future stories and programming on behalf of the Latin America Division.
  • Overseeing programming and production of content and ensuring that content covers a multiplicity of platforms: audio, video, text and social.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GS-12 or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector, AND fluency in both the English and Spanish languages.

Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. It includes all of the elements listed below, obtained in the journalism and television and radio news programing industry:

  1. Planning, developing and executing major news coverage events and projects with media partners;
  2. Managing human, financial and operational resources to ensure effective coverage of major news events and special projects;
  3. Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including media affiliates in the region, on plans, programming, special series, co-productions projects, and coverage for regional media partners;
  4. Experience producing programming and journalistic content, in studio and on the field programs, including creation and productions of content; AND
  5. Producing journalistic content for radio, television, digital, and social media platforms.
